Low Carbon Alliance Challenge

The “Low Carbon Challenge” is a 6 month sub-project (running from October 2011 to March 2012) aiming to engage all 1,400 staff within Stirling University to drive carbon reduction through behavioural change based on selected tasks that are both business specific and carbon weighted.

Limbo dancing has a murky past but has since transformed into into a fun celebratory dance around the world and the principles of Limbo remain relevant to us all. The ability to bend backwards and dance under a horizontal pole is a skill that captures the imagination and tests our flexibility and physical prowess to the limit.
You may be relieved to know that we won't actually be asking staff to dance the Limbo. Our Limbo challenge invovles a very different kind of lowering......
Between now and April 2012, we are pushing to see how low we can get our carbon emissions!
The Challenge is to lower our emissions from Transport, Energy and Waste
Transport is the first theme for the Challenge and ran through October and November. There were some great events and projects that took place each month.
Energy is the second theme for the Challenge and ran through December and January 2012. Projects were focused around saving energy by switching lights and equipment off when not needed.
